Love to the mamas.

This post is a shout out of immense love and pride for my friends, one of whom posted this on facebook yesterday (with a link to info on teargas and breastfeeding):

The day after I was exposed to heavy quantities of tear gas last Friday, my 8 month old son had diarrhea, which is unusual for him. It occurred to me that there might be a connection so I looked it up. This is important information for nursing mothers who go out to protest: To be entirely safe, don't nurse for a few hours after being exposed. Wash your hair and body thoroughly and change your clothes.

Here's to my powerful mama friends, and to all the mamas, in the streets (from Tahrir to everywhere), the courtrooms, the delivery rooms, the prisons, temples, schools, demanding justice and peace for mamas and babies and everyone, everywhere.
